Best Western Plus Au Cheval Blanc Mulhouse Nord

We booked two rooms for one night in December, but were sent to a separate building across the street because the receptionist said the main hotel was full. The rooms were cold, not very clean, and smelled strongly of mold. There was no towel rail in the bathroom, so the towels stayed damp overnight. The spa was extremely dirty, dated, and neglected. The sauna lights and steam room didn’t work, nor did the shower outside the sauna. The floors were filthy, with wet dust and hair everywhere. We didn’t try the restaurant because we didn’t want another disappointment.

I left deeply disappointed by our stay. Our Turkish tourist group seemed to be treated with less respect than other guests, which felt like clear discrimination. Breakfast was insulting: just a cold coffee and one croissant. When I raised the issue with management, they were dismissive and showed no interest in resolving it. Staff were rude and unfriendly throughout, and their sour attitude made us feel unwelcome. I’d strongly advise others, especially groups, to avoid this hotel. Discrimination and poor service shouldn’t be tolerated.

We stayed here for two nights. The room was on the small side, but it wasn’t too bad. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely and quiet, and parking was easy. If the hotel lot is full, there’s free public parking nearby. It’s a small town, a peaceful place to recharge at night, with Colmar and Mulhouse to explore during the day.

Breakfast was a rip-off at €26. By 9am all the hot food was gone, even though it was meant to be served until 10am, so we ended up with juice, bread, and cheese. The jacuzzi was broken too. Rooms get very hot and the aircon can’t be adjusted. They’re poorly insulated, so you hear toilets flushing around you and kitchen clatter late into the evening. There are better places to stay just a few minutes away.
