Côté Thalasso

The bed was the worst part of the room. It was two beds pushed together, and I got stuck in the middle on the first night. My arm stayed swollen for the rest of the trip. The room itself was spacious and fine, but the massages felt like a rip-off, and the food was decent. The setting is beautiful, with sea on one side and mountains on the other. There are plenty of hiking trails, places to swim, and nice walks in town. But the hospitality and atmosphere felt cold, and some locals seemed rude. Maybe that's just how it is here, but it didn't feel welcoming. I wouldn't come back unless I'm much older, if I make it to my 70s.

The pools, both indoor and outdoor, were clean and really well looked after, and you can have drinks brought to you if you like. The rooms are basic but clean, with enough facilities, and it's a lovely spot to slow down and relax for a while. Life here seems to move at a nice, easy pace. The hotel looks out over the sea, and the staff speak good English even though there don't seem to be many foreign visitors. One downside is the location up high, with no shops nearby, so getting anything means a trek. Otherwise, absolutely amazing. Call the hotel directly to book for the best prices instead of using Booking.com.

My dog was welcome in the hotel, which was one of the main reasons I chose Cote Thalasso. I also really appreciate the spa, the good dining and the comfortable rooms. Earlier this year, in 2025, I spent a week there for my third stay. I'm a returning guest and would highly recommend Cote Thalasso Banyuls.

We had a delicious lunch at the restaurant, and the rooms were renovated, clean and cosy. The outdoor seawater pool was pure pleasure, too. We had a fantastic two days at the spa. The service was so pleasant, starting with an email a few days ahead offering us the chance to arrive early and enjoy the spa before check-in, and again after check-out. Happy to come back!
