Domaine Casa Andria

Sitting together around one long table made it easy to get to know the other guests, which was a great experience. We were glad to be there instead of in an anonymous hotel. The welcome was warm, and the food was great too.

A lovely place, and the people were really friendly and helpful.

What bothered me most was the breakfast. The cakes tasted several days old, the orange juice had gone bad, and we then spotted mold on the bottle's spout. Wasps were around the food too, so I wondered why there weren't any traps. I'm trying to separate the practical details from how the stay felt to me. I think a host should be available and polite without getting in the way. My partner does this work professionally, and I know some guests like a homely atmosphere, but this host was far too intrusive for me. She kept asking who we were and where we were going, seemed to watch the pool from a chair, and took over breakfast with a long monologue in French. It felt excessive. The dog issue also left a bad impression. We were told right away to keep our dog leashed, and not to let it on the bed or sofa once we entered the room. I would have followed those rules anyway, as a matter of courtesy. It was the irritated tone that bothered me, especially since we'd told them we had a dog and paid to stay there. If dogs are such a problem, they might as well not accept them. That would at least be more honest.

We had a generous, varied breakfast, and it was delicious. The owner is genuinely friendly and likes to chat with guests. The pool was just right for cooling down on summer days, and Casa Andria is tucked away from the main roads and bustle, making it a good spot to rest and recharge.
