My father and I spent five nights at Hotel de la Placette and had a really good time. The managers and staff were friendly, and breakfast was very good. The hotel is right in downtown Barcelonnette, and our room was clean and comfortable. We could sometimes hear sounds from the corridor or neighboring rooms, and the only trash bin was in the bathroom. Those were small annoyances, though; otherwise everything was great.

There’s a nice little bar, and the hotel is right in the town centre. It’s a lovely small place. Motorcycles and bicycles can be parked securely almost next door, about 50 metres away.

The owner made us feel very welcome, and there’s a handy bar downstairs where breakfast is served. You can also stop there for an apéro at lunchtime or before dinner. This charming family-run hotel is pet-friendly and sits in central Barcelonette, inside the pedestrian area. Our room was small but well equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless.

The staff were so sweet, and the rooms were great. I stayed one night at Hotel de la placette with friends in mid July, and the service was excellent. Since it’s right by the town centre, we could go out to restaurants without needing a car. I’d definitely recommend it for a few days in Barcelonette, whether you’re with friends or family.
