Brit Hotel Rouen Barentin

I was here for work because everywhere else was booked. For a one-star place, you know what to expect, but this one felt run-down. My tiny room let in a lot of outside noise, and the bathroom was ridiculously small and cheaply fitted. There was also a sewage smell coming through the ventilation, basically an open hole with no filter. The Indian restaurant next door was excellent, though. The name Fast Hotel says it all, a quick stop for contractors.

The staff were genuinely helpful and friendly, and I slept well because the bed was comfortable and the place was clean. The room itself is bare-bones: no fridge, and the washroom is like an airplane setup, with the sink, shower, and toilet all inside one plastic enclosure. There are shirt hangers above the desk, so using them means the desk isn't useful. Still, it did the job for a night's rest before continuing my travels.

I picked this place because it was the cheapest around and ended up staying seven nights after my plans changed. It may only have a two-star rating, but the staff and service felt five-star: everyone was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean. Very good value, and I highly recommend it.

The sheets were dirty and hairy, the hand shower was broken, and I could hear someone snoring in the next room. Need I say more? Book here if you want a bad experience.
