Terrasses du Zimmerberg

The apartment has plenty going for it: a private terrace under a big tree with a hammock, parking just outside the entrance, excellent communication with the landlord, and very strong Wi-Fi even on the terrace. It’s functional, fully equipped and has charm. The bathroom and toilet are separate, and we didn’t meet the landlord in person. There are some real drawbacks, though. The mattress and bed frame are very basic and soft, a recurring complaint in other reviews. On the second morning, three wooden slats came loose when I tried to sit up. They could be put back with some effort, but it seems to keep happening. When I mentioned it, the landlord said he had plenty of replacement slats. I think the mattress and frame should be replaced. The sink plug doesn’t hold water. Cutlery and kitchen utensils are in a drawer under the dining table, but there’s no good bread knife or chef’s knife. The shower is cramped, especially for a larger person: it’s about 80 x 80 cm, with a fabric curtain. The shower head has no hand shower, and you can’t adjust the temperature. Water flow is controlled by a push button like at a swimming pool. There are no German TV channels.
