Hôtel Spa Restaurant l'Ostella

The beach part of the stay was lovely. Hotel staff drove back and forth to the beach restaurant, and we had a great day there with yummy food in a nice setting. I preferred downstairs to the tapas upstairs. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was perfect. Still, the hotel is poorly located if you don’t have a car, and I found it very expensive for a small second-floor room facing a parking lot.

The location is in an industrial area, about a 20 minute drive from Bastia. The air conditioning didn’t work, the rooms are small and need refurbishment, and the spa facilities feel low rent. Even the massage was a joke. I can’t see why this place gets such good reviews. Avoid it at all costs. At half the price, maybe you could put up with one night while passing through, if you had no other choice.

Lydia took great care of me and was amazing. I’ll definitely come back. My room was clean and lovely, with a sea view, and I only wish I’d stayed a little longer. Perfect vacation spot. 5 stars.

The staff were the highlight. Everyone went out of their way to help, and the welcome was full of please and thank yous. When I arrived, they gave me a map and the lift was broken, so someone carried my suitcase up four floors. The hotel is lovely and worth a stay, but the isolated area got boring after my first day. There are no shops, restaurants or much sign of civilization nearby, and bad weather would leave you with little to do. The beach is a pleasant 15 minute walk, but there are no public toilets there, so I kept returning to the hotel. My room was large, clean and nice. Dinner was exceptional, while breakfast was average. The spa hot tub was warm, though the pool was very cold. The old stair carpet was unpleasant, and the doors between the floors and stairs are so close that you could fall down the stairs if you don’t watch your step.
