The video gives a somewhat misleading impression, and the place is a long way from the Vélofrancette route with very poor signs, so cyclists should avoid it. We got a cold welcome. The rooms were adequate and breakfast decent, but the sheets were wrinkled and the shower was small and old-fashioned. This doesn’t justify the three stars.

We slept really well in the cabin and woke to birdsong, daylight, the rooster crowing, and the donkey calling. It’s a converted caravan chalet between fields, woods, and a small farm with geese, chickens, a rooster, a pony, a donkey, and a mare. The peaceful, secluded setting is idyllic. We chose the cabin rather than the tipi, which I’d recommend more for families than couples. The hosts were genuinely warm, attentive, and kind. There’s a little garden sitting area outside the cabin, where we relaxed in the sun over aperitifs and our evening meal. Bring your own food, as none is provided. The small house about 20 meters away has a fully equipped kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, dishwasher, oven, and gas stove. There’s also a shower room and a very spacious toilet with baby changing facilities. Breakfast in the kitchen was rustic and fairly hearty, with homemade strawberry and apricot jams, coffee, milk, orange juice, and hot chocolate. The chocolate croissants had been defrosted, and the toast was toasted on just one side, though I reheated it in the toaster. We were given a bottle of cider, which was a slight letdown because we expected homemade or local cider and got a mass-produced dry Breton one instead. Still, we had a fantastic evening and night. We’ll definitely come back with the children for an Indian-themed weekend in the tipis!

We stayed three nights in the Marine Room with my husband and our five-month-old daughter. The hosts were warm and welcoming. We could have breakfast at a small table just outside our room, while our daughter played nearby on her play mat. We also used the babysitting the hosts offered and enjoyed three hours together as a couple. It went very well. Our breastfed daughter was fed from a hard-spout cup, and the hosts let me keep my milk and ice packs in their refrigerator. We’d be happy to come back.

I’m disgusted. I cancelled seven days ahead and was still refused a refund, even though they said they were turning people away, which suggested the room could easily have been rented again. The owner was unpleasant on the phone and no help at all. I’d taken out free cancellation insurance, too. €50 lost for cancelling two nights!
