Abbaye De Maizieres

Right in the center of Beaune, the hotel is surprisingly peaceful, and there's a pool in the 900-year-old building. Our room was bright, clean, and well appointed, with air conditioning that was essential in summer. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were on the top floor, so the spiral staircase was quite a workout. There are plenty of paid parking spaces on nearby streets.

The hotel is beautiful, with so many historic features from the Abbaye, and the town is right outside. We spent most evenings having a drink in the main sitting area, then had breakfast in the lovely dining room. As someone with coeliac disease, I struggled to find gluten-free food in France, but the staff went above and beyond to find my favourite, gluten-free muesli, and bread. They were kind, lovely, and helpful throughout. My sister and I loved our room, especially the comfortable beds and chic bathrooms. We even got to swim during winter. It was fantastic value for money, and I really can't fault the place. I've already told my boyfriend we'll come back all the way from Australia!

The hotel sits in a beautiful building about a thousand years old, with a medieval feel, right in the heart of historic Beaune. Our room was clean, the bathroom was great, and the air conditioning worked perfectly. The service was amazing, especially at breakfast, where the staff were so personable. A delightful stay all around.

The lobby is spectacular, and this historic hotel is just a short walk, about two blocks, from the main square. Despite being so close, it's very quiet. The staff were professional and accommodating. Just be aware that the circular staircase up to the rooms is very steep.
