I booked a room for May 4th to May 5th at around 11:40pm the previous night, after missing my last train to Dijon. I couldn’t get a taxi, needed somewhere to sleep quickly, and couldn’t find the check-in time on the Hotel Le Foch website. I assumed a hotel would be okay for a late arrival. When I got there, the door was unlocked but there was no staff to give me a key. I ended up sleeping around the chair and sofa until 5:30am, then took the first bus to Dijon. I called to ask for a refund. The man said the booking website was at fault, not the hotel, and then said he didn’t understand my English. He also blamed me for not checking the check-in and check-out times carefully. I’d already checked the official hotel website and couldn’t find them. That’s not how a hotel owner should respond when offering a service to people.

We stayed one night on our way to the Cote D'Azur. The host was very friendly and breakfast was nice. The hotel and room are a little dated, but it feels cozy, and it’s right in the middle of a lovely village. If you’re after a smaller hotel rather than a large one, this is a great place to stay.

The location is perfect if you want to go into the city. We stayed just one night, so the room was fine for sleeping and was clean, though the bathroom was old. The owner had clearly tried to create a nice setting. From outside, the place doesn’t look so good when the bar is closed.

The room was old and covered in spiderwebs. The mattress was very uncomfortable, and there was an unpleasant smell. There wasn’t any air, and when we opened the window, smoke from people smoking outside at the bar came into the room. I’ll never go back to this hotel!

The room faced a busy street, and with it reaching 37 degrees outside, having no air conditioning made the stay uncomfortable. The owner was very nice, and the room was inexpensive.
