Breakfast was top, and the staff were unbelievably kind. It’s good value for the money in central Monaco. The rooms have a shabby-chic look that won’t suit everyone, and they’re not especially spacious, but they’re functional.

The location and value were superb. The restaurant had great coffee, and the customer service was great too. Rooms and bathroom were clean, with enough space between the furniture, and the street view was nice. Just across the street is the excellent Portuguese restaurant O Luositano (?), as well as the Indian Star.

The receptionist was very kind and extremely helpful. The hotel itself seems quite old, though, and the flooring is badly discoloured. The shower wasn’t working properly: sometimes the water was scalding, then a few minutes later it was cold. On my last day I got up at 5:30 to shower before leaving and waited ages for warm water. I honestly thought there might be no hot water that day. Breakfast was fair.
