The house smelled of fish, with no pleasant scent, though the host behaved respectfully. The view toward Monaco was beautiful and could merit five stars. There were four of us; the space was very small, but the beds were adequate, and there was a sofa bed too. The advertising photos don’t show the issues. I booked this place for my 81-year-old father and 77-year-old mother to rest and travel with my son, and arrived today, August 11, 2024. Getting here on the private access road was very challenging, especially at night. The sharp turns and steep slopes take special skills, and you need a car with powerful brakes and an engine. My large Nissan X-Trail managed the incline, but I give the route no positive points. After parking, there are lots of stairs; with heavy luggage, you need a strong back, arms, and knees. Zero for that part. If you’re elderly, don’t have a powerful car, or want somewhere luxurious, this isn’t the right place. Knowing what I know now, I never would have rented it. Even after driving all the way from Rome, I would have canceled the contract on arrival if I could. After traveling 3,000 kilometers from Germany to Italy, this was the worst place I could have stayed.

We had a three-day stay in this excellent villa on the mountainside, with beautiful views over Monaco from the French side. It’s very well equipped, tastefully decorated in a rustic-urban style, and very new. Ludovico lives on the property and is a wonderful host, attentive to every need. There’s parking up a small hill, but you quickly get used to driving in and out. You need a car, and it’s not recommended for people with reduced mobility, as the website says. Pets are welcome, but motorhomes aren’t allowed because of capacity and the narrow access. There are mosquitoes in the garden, but the apartment is perfectly air-conditioned, so opening the windows isn’t necessary or advisable. Any city parking garage is 10 minutes away. For parking, I recommend the port garage in the mornings and Roqueville garage in the evenings, or street parking itself after 7:00 PM, which is free. That avoids Monte Carlo traffic and leaves you a 3-minute walk from the Casino. The historic palaces and cathedral area has its own garage, with escalators leading straight to the Oceanographic Museum. There’s an InterMarché 1 km away in Monaco, where you get one hour of free parking while shopping. Don’t miss the Grimaldi family’s private car collection in the harbor by the pool. A combined ticket with the Palace is recommended.
