For one night at €200, this was a truly appalling welcome. We had to call the owner when we arrived, and he verbally abused us on the phone because he mistook us for someone else. Another woman eventually came to let us in after a 40-minute wait. At 7 pm, the apartment still wasn’t ready. She made the bedsheets in front of us and said she hadn’t known there was a new arrival that day. The place hadn’t been cleaned, dirty dishes were still in the dishwasher, and the sheets were stained. The next morning, while we were out at breakfast, a young man was already in the apartment at 11:20 am, though checkout was supposed to be at noon. He was cleaning the bedroom with our suitcases open inside. Neither of them spoke fluent French or English. A terrible experience.

It’s a scam. There’s no parking, the accommodation owner didn’t show up, and his mobile phone was out of coverage.

The TV heroes were great for autographs and photos and so on, in Beausoleil at the town hall square.
