Hotel du Cygne

We booked a family room for one night through hotels.com while passing through, and were told we’d be charged on arrival. Instead, payment was taken when we booked. Our flight landed at BVA at 9 pm, and when we reached the hotel at 10:20, it was locked, dark, and looked as though it had been closed for months. We had no message in the hotels.com app and were left looking for somewhere to stay late at night with our children. The only nearby hotel still open cost us €440 for rooms. After I complained, hotels.com contacted Hotel Du Cygne. At 11:50 PM, Mohammed from Hotel Du Cygne messaged to say they close at 10 pm and explained how to enter with the key code. By then we were already staying elsewhere. Mohammed refused to refund us, even though the payment wasn’t supposed to be taken before arrival. hotels.com did give us some travel credit. This place is a dump. They take your money, lock the door, and leave you to deal with it.

Mons. Mohamed was a very pleasant and helpful proprietor, and the breakfast was nice too. I came to visit the nearby cathedral and would return next time. The hotel is a little worn but otherwise agreeable. The shower didn’t drain properly, and it’s best to ask for a room away from the street because it can be noisy. Merci!

We’re a family of six, and the hotel had a room with enough beds for all of us. The owner was extremely nice. It’s in downtown Beauvais and is a really good option, especially if you have an early flight.

The mattress was comfortable, the price was right, and the location puts you in the centre of town, close to the cathedral and museum, with the town hall a block away. The man at the desk was cheerful, attentive, and a great help, 11/10 for service. The building has no elevator, so the third floor is a tough climb if you’re unfit or unsteady. Rooms felt a bit stale, and the soap and shampoo were iffy. The cleaning is open to debate: there was some mold in the shower grout that scratched off easily, and a few corners were dusty. Road noise got loud at times, though this is where the action is.
