Hotel le Broceliande, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

The room gives you very little to work with: a bed, wardrobe and TV, with no air conditioning or kettle. It’s so cramped that you have to choose between opening your suitcase and having room to breathe. There’s peeling paint in both the room and bathroom, too. Breakfast was another letdown. By 8 a.m. the scrambled eggs and bacon were already gone, juice often ran out, and the coffee machine had a habit of not working when you wanted a cup. Even the old pineapple was a sad sight. The breakfast write-up could be longer than the hotel’s list of room amenities. I’d rate the place at one and a half stars, leaving the other half of its three-star rating for hotels that really earn it. Still, if all you need is a roof and a bed after sightseeing, and you’re tired enough to sleep at a bus stop, it’ll get you through the night. The rest takes a bit of patience and a sense of humor.
