Transhumance& cie

The open kitchen and big oven make for a relaxed, easygoing atmosphere, and there are seats inside and out. We had duck and baked cheese, both cooked just right. The local food was great, especially the selection of cheeses and beer.

The restaurant was excellent, but the room situation was awful. There were flies everywhere because of the animals nearby, and my floor and shower were already covered in them when I arrived. I asked in the morning if someone could just sweep them up, since I kept stepping on them. They refused, saying they never clean rooms while guests are there. When I asked for a broom so I could do it myself, they said I’d spoken disrespectfully and wouldn’t give me one. Bring insect spray and your own cleaning supplies if you want a clean room. I’ve stayed in hotels, hostels, and B&Bs around the world, but I’ve never had behavior like this happen twice in the same place.

A great little hotel in the mountains, with a really good restaurant. The owner was extremely nice, and the surroundings are astounding. A great stop if you’re travelling through the Pyrenees.

The food looked really good, but I was turned away despite seeing plenty of empty tables. I was travelling alone and thought dinner for one might be possible, even though I hadn’t booked. They didn’t speak English or try to understand me, and sent me away very rudely.
