La Villa Volpaso

The room was nice and the welcome friendly. Breakfast lacked originality, though, and getting into the parking area was difficult.

The property is new, the rooms are beautiful, and the surroundings are peaceful and green. The owner is very kind, though his wife seemed a little less so. We enjoyed parts of our stay, but it didn’t feel as magical as some earlier guests described. Cleanliness was the biggest issue: there was hair and dust around the room, even in the bathtub. Outside, weeds, plants, and other debris made the house look neglected. Breakfast was simple, just bread, two kinds of jam, butter, juice, and coffee. Nothing special, but not bad. It’s a shame, because the place has a lot of potential. A bit more effort and passion could make it much better.

We were a family of four, with children aged 8 and 13, and stayed in both rooms at Villa Volpaso, right next to each other. They were spacious, beautiful, and clean, with modern bathrooms and good air conditioning. A large fridge was available for everyone to use. Breakfast on the terrace came with a view over the Balagne region. The host gave us helpful tips for swimming in the pools in the Asco Valley and booked a table for us at the popular pizzeria, just a five-minute walk away, since our French is limited. The beach, bakery, and supermarket are around a ten-minute walk. Parking is available, though the steep driveway takes some getting used to and is tricky with a large car. Highly recommended!

Breakfast was delicious each morning, with lots of homemade things served on a terrace with an amazing view. We felt welcome right away, got good tips about the area, and had a delicious meal in the village, an easy walk away. Our three nights at La Villa Volpaso were fantastic, and we’d love to return. Many thanks to Laurent and Caroline. Caroline and Laurent built the house themselves, and the craftsmanship really shows. It’s made with high-quality materials, clean, and fully equipped, with tasteful furnishings. The setting is a beautiful, peaceful little paradise in the mountains.
