Le Central

We didn’t use the room much, but it was clean and comfortable, with a good shower, hot water, and a coffee pod machine. The weather kept us in the bar longer than planned over Easter, and we were glad it did. It’s a cosy place to chat with the staff, who suggested some nice local walks, and there’s a good choice of drinks. We’d booked the Easter Sunday menu, which was excellent. The ingredients were locally sourced and cooked in house, with a map showing where they came from. We also had a charcuterie board on another evening. We came with my wife for the Easter holidays and had a very happy visit.

We live in a nearby village, so we came to Le Central just for its Valentine’s dinner. The restaurant and bar look lovely, and they’d added romantic decorations for the occasion. The staff knew the ingredients well and talked us through each course. The menu flowed beautifully from one dish to the next, and the food was perfect. They’d also made a cocktail for the evening that went wonderfully with the meal. Absolutely flawless.

We had a delicious range of food, from breakfast and charcuterie boards to the more elaborate Easter dinner. It was great that the ingredients were local, and some local produce was even for sale at reception. Santat has a quaint but lively feel, with a cool bar and a gym. On our first night we caught the live Jam Night, which made for a great atmosphere. They also made me a perfect espresso martini when I asked. We stayed over the Easter long weekend and were very happy with the place.

The five-course Christmas lunch was high quality, with local ingredients, and €39 per person felt like a bargain. We hadn’t booked, but they welcomed us warmly and found us a table. It was so good that I’d happily go back. We didn’t stay overnight, so I can’t speak to the rooms.
