Villa U Scudu

It's quiet out here, with a small town, a little shop for essentials and a supermarket about 20 minutes away by car. There are three restaurants, a couple of bars, boat hire, snorkeling and other water sports. Corsica is generally sparsely populated, and even its larger towns are small compared with the ones we've visited in Sardinia, so this is a great place to slow down and enjoy the scenery. The house sits above the bay at the end of a very steep, though thankfully short, drive. From the pool and decking, and from all three double bedrooms, the views are spectacular. It's modern and well equipped: a large fridge-freezer, air conditioning throughout, a gas barbecue, two bathrooms including one ensuite, a petanque court, infinity pool, sun loungers and card and board games. I'm writing this at 11 pm, sitting outside on the soft furnishings and looking at the lights on the yachts in the bay. Idyllic.
