The bar and dining space feels funky and different from the rather classic style of Benodet. There’s great music, and the food is beautiful, local and healthy, but still delicious and a bit edgy. At this little hotel, Jean Etienne made me feel so welcome and looked after. His service was so sweet that I was genuinely touched. My room was spacious and comfortable, with lovely decor and thoughtful details throughout. I’d love to come back.

We had a great time here for two nights hors saison and would happily return. The modern setup is practical, with everything you need, a super-comfortable bed, a brand-new shower and fast wifi. The bar area works well for a coffee, a drink or getting some work done. Lovely place and service, good price and location. Thanks, Bateau Libre!

A simple French boutique hotel, with clean, comfortable and pleasant rooms that have a TV. The staff were friendly and very helpful. There’s no restaurant, but breakfast is a nice continental spread. Recommended.

The Petit déjeuner complet at the cafe was delicious. It came with juice and coffee, cured meats, cheese, jams, pastries, bread, fresh fruit and a divine bowl of yogurt. Highly recommend it!

The owner is lovely and makes a very good breakfast. The rooms are fantastic for such a friendly price. I’d strongly recommend BATEAU LIBRE if you’re travelling in Brittany. Excellent deal.
