The location is fantastic for evening walks. The pitches are a good size, divided by hedges, and some have shade. The pools are warm and the slides are fun. But the showers were filthy. Floors were cleaned regularly, yet the cubicle walls had weeks, if not months, of grime and mould. There was no soap, so nobody was washing their hands. We were shown our pitch, then got no information about the site or what was happening. I went to reception to ask, but the man just walked away. Maintenance was poor too, with broken grates at the pool and in the showers. The pool tiles are extremely slippery when wet. The sauna wasn’t working, the steam room only seemed to be on in the mornings, and the washing up water was rarely hot.

The location is great, close to town and the beach, with plenty of walks and cycling routes. There’s a nice pool with slides, and the Wednesday food truck was fantastic, though we hadn’t been told it would be there. We couldn’t find anything because there were no signs for the toilets, showers or washing up area, so we had to open doors and guess. We weren’t given a map or details about when the bar or snack bar opened. Arrive after 2pm if possible, and bring your own toilet roll and hand soap.

A great base for exploring benodet, with a beach just a three-minute walk away. The site is a little dated but clean, with lovely, roomy pitches and plenty for kids, including trampolines, a bouncy castle and a playground.

Stephane and Philippe always do their best to help people and make room for them, even when they’re fully booked. They’re lovely, and the site is just as welcoming and friendly as ever. This is our 20th year returning to this fabulous family-run campsite. It was the first French campsite we visited, and it impressed us so much that we knew we’d be back. We’ve explored many different regions of France over the years, but always come back to this little gem in Benodet. We usually stay for three weeks now, and, like many others, we almost feel part of the family and look forward to returning each year. We couldn’t recommend it more highly. 👍xxx

We meant to stay two nights and ended up spending six. The pitch was roomy, with water and electricity close by, and we were placed near reception and the facilities. The pools were especially good, and everything else was in very good shape. Carrefour is walkable through the little town, though the longer coastal path is a lovely way to get there. There was plenty of space farther into the site, but it was winding down for the season. A lovely spot, less than 200 metres from the promenade. We'd gladly come back.
