The owner went out of his way to make my stay a good one. The night I was there, the restaurant was closed because of a wedding down the street, but he took time away from his chef and bartender duties at the wedding to cook me a delicious carbonara and bring it to my room. Incredible hospitality. My room was a good size, clean and quiet, with a very comfortable bed. There was a TV, USB phone charger, and free wifi, and the continental breakfast the next morning was very nice too. The hotel is directly across from the Bergerac train station, which was really convenient, and the rates were very good for what you get. I’ll definitely stay again next time I’m in Bergerac and recommend it to others without hesitation.

We found the owner incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. He went above and beyond to make sure we had what we needed and made us feel welcome, and we’re grateful for his kindness. The brasserie downstairs was another highlight: we ate there several times, and every meal was delicious, with a great variety of dishes for different tastes. The rooms were spotless and well maintained, and the beds were extremely comfortable after long days exploring. It’s just a short 10-minute walk to the town center. Being directly opposite the train and bus station made getting around the region easy and stress-free, and there’s free parking across the road next to the train station if you have a car. We couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience and would highly recommend this hotel in Bergerac for business or leisure, comfort and convenience alike.

The staff were lovely and friendly. When taxis weren’t available, one of them even gave us a lift to the airport. We only stayed one night while travelling around the area, but came back for a couple of drinks on our last day before heading home. The rooms were great, comfortable, and clean, and it was really nice to have a bathtub. The hotel is just a short walk from the center and directly opposite the train station. We’ll definitely stay again when we’re in the area and recommend it to others.

We stopped in for an unplanned lunch with my family while visiting Bergerac on a very hot day. The restaurant was full, but our waiter stayed friendly, professional, and efficient, handling everything with ease. We rarely get service like that in the UK. The food was great: I had Thai beef and my family had burgers. It was a pleasant surprise, and we hope to do it again. Highly recommended.

The hotel is super affordable and right next to the train station. What really stood out was the owner/manager, who was really nice and put in far more effort than necessary to help us. I’ll definitely recommend l'escale to everyone I know if or when they stay in Bergerac.
