The apartments are very clean and the kitchens are well equipped. The covered pool and covered communal ping pong table give the kids somewhere to hang out and play whatever the weather, and the staff are super pleasant. One downside: mobile data is really poor. I had to go upstairs to get two bars on H. Paid Wi-Fi is available for €20-30 per week, but I think it should be included, since it matters as much as water, electricity, heat and the air we breathe.

There’s a sauna and a partly covered pool on site, which seemed to be open during the day. We rented a two-bedroom maisonette with a private outdoor seating area in the low season. There were enough other guests around that the complex didn’t feel deserted. Free parking is provided off site, so checking in and out involves a walk. There’s a river nearby, along with extensive public paths through recently created parkland. Bergerac is within walking distance, though we drove into town and it took 15 to 20 minutes by the most direct route. Internet in the accommodation costs extra by the day, which could add up if you have several devices.

The apartment was small, baking hot and smelled of stale cigarettes. It shared a small pool and children’s playground with more than 100 other people. The manager agreed the rooms didn’t match the advert and apologised, then gave us keys to try two others, but they were the same. Everything cost extra, even basic Wi-Fi, which other guests said wasn’t working properly anyway. Our so-called private garden was just a small table beside another family playing loud music. At checkout you either pay extra for cleaning or do it yourself, including five euros for the dishwasher table. We complained but never got a full response. This conveyor-belt stay at an unloved, tired old resort spoiled our holiday.

Don’t come here. The place is very basic, and the house felt really cramped for two people. Neighbours kept complaining about noise at 4 pm while we were trying to relax on holiday. The manager came over every morning asking us to keep it down, but when we asked other people, they said they couldn’t hear us. We were made to clean the place ourselves on the last day. Unbelievable!
