La Ferme Pillet

The outdoor setting was fantastic, and the cottage was spacious with a sensible layout. The kitchen and bathroom were clean too. Its decor is classic, but compared with other holiday cottages near Paris, we really enjoyed our stay. If rain's forecast, bring boots.

We’ll definitely come back. The cottage was easy to access and had loads of equipment: a dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, two big fridge-freezers, master suites, comfortable beds, a walk-in shower, BBQ, and a lovely lawn with picnic tables. Excellent place!

The setting is very pleasant, but I’d avoid this place. The owner only turned up on the last day to ask if we were alright. There was no inventory check, and the welcome was cold. Cleanliness and hygiene were questionable, especially the bedding and bathroom. The washing machine, clothesline, and ironing board were in such a deplorable state that they’d have been better left out. Mosquito nets and a barbecue were advertised, but weren’t actually there. Reading the earlier reviews, it’s clear the owners didn’t take them into account.

The location is good, and the welcome was friendly. Still, the heating isn’t adequate for winter, so these places seem better suited to summer rentals. The Wi-Fi is practically non-existent, and a little renovation wouldn’t hurt. We get frosty beds early on, and there’s a bad smell from the gutters. It’s fine for a temporary stay, but a shame given the location.
