Le Merlanson

The breakfast was a real treat, with fresh fruit and good coffee, and the evenings had a laid-back feel, especially with the local beer. You could pre-order either a three-course meal or a simple country platter, or pick up snacks at the village shop next door. I booked this small country hotel on a whim for one night while passing through, and it turned out to be a lovely surprise. From the street it looks like a typical French village house, but the rooms inside are beautiful, spotless and fitted with modern bathrooms. You can tell a lot of care goes into the place. Pascal was friendly and attentive from the moment I arrived, and made me feel welcome. I’d happily stay at Pascal's place again if I’m back in the area.

The host gave us a terrific welcome, and the meals were excellent too. A really lovely bed and breakfast. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful three-day stay, drawn in by the location for visiting Navacelles, exploring nearby, and hiking. The room was on the small side, but had everything we needed, was very clean, and had a comfortable bed. Our host was always around and incredibly welcoming. He also cooked healthy, delicious meals, and I’d especially recommend his restaurant for the food and the interesting conversations. Simple, genuine and friendly.

We found a spotless, quiet room with all the equipment we needed, and the manager gave us a perfect welcome, friendly, interesting and attentive. The breakfasts were very good. We didn’t get to try the communal dinner this time, perhaps next time. This roadside guesthouse was a really pleasant surprise, and we highly recommend it.
