This extraordinary residence is a rare place that has managed to keep its past character intact. The 19th century house was the residence of Dr. Adema, Mayor of Biarritz, and is also where Napoleon III used to receive treatment during his many visits to the Basque coast. The accommodations are stylishly furnished and luxuriously decorated. We only stayed one night at Hotel Édouard VII, but it was a great experience. Ambroise arranged a taxi to the train station and was very helpful. They also looked after our bags before check-in and after check-out, which made it easy to explore, and the room’s air conditioning was a welcome relief from the heat. The location is great too. I liked it enough to leave a review and would highly recommend it.

We were made to feel incredibly welcome at Edouard VII, and the team took such good care of our toddler too. Melodie and everyone else gave us outstanding service. The hotel has a beautiful, carefully managed time-capsule feel, and it’s a quiet little oasis in a gorgeous neighbourhood. There are lovely coffee shops and the market nearby. My husband and I are honestly speechless. Simply the best.

The location worked really well, about 5-10 minutes from both the centre and the beach. Our room was cosy and had air conditioning. We only stayed one night, but everything from arrival to departure went perfectly. The staff were so friendly and helpful. At check-in, one of them gave me a map, pointed out nice places to visit and eat or drink, and told me about the local market held each morning. I definitely recommend this cute hotel.

The building is beautiful and has been tastefully updated. It’s well placed for the beach, market, bars and restaurants, and bus stops for the airport or train station are a five-minute walk away. We had a great stay. If I come back to Biarritz, I won’t look anywhere else. Definitely recommend it.
