Hôtel Cosmopolitain

The front desk lady on departure day was the first person to acknowledge that our AC wasn't working. She offered a complimentary brunch, but Max, who was in charge of it, seemed annoyed and exasperated about the gesture. That was after a two-day stay in room 16 where the AC had been the main reason we chose this hotel, and it failed on both days. We repeatedly reported the problem. Staff cleaned the filter and adjusted the temperature centrally, then kept telling us the unit was fine. It showed a flashing green light and only the fan worked. Even after running it for more than three hours, the room temperature hadn't changed, which we explained clearly. We were also told dismissively, “this is cool for us.” Max was particularly unpleasant about our concerns. He offered another room as if daring us to decide whether its AC worked, and when we asked to postpone the move because of prior commitments, he got irritated and said it wasn't possible. The ongoing problem and the staff's dismissive, gaslighting behavior made the stay deeply unpleasant. We left with a very negative impression of the hotel.

The room felt a little worn, and the air con wasn't working very well, which brought the rating down a bit. Still, the location is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and there's a nice little bar. Breakfast was good value too.

The room was clean and the bed was good, though the room itself wasn't very big. The shower was about what you'd expect. The hotel sits right in the city centre, with friendly staff and a bar that's nice for relaxing before or after a day out. Breakfast is small, just a few basic items, and costs €10. There's a bakery right opposite, so I'd get a fresh croissant there. Nearby parking garages have height limits: 190 cm at the closest one, and around 185 or 180 cm at the others, in case you've got a ski box on the car.

The staff were really kind, breakfast was delicious, and the location was great. One drawback was the nearby nightclub, which gets pretty loud on weekends. The rooms were also a bit warm, though I'm an American who's very used to AC.
