Camping Campole Plage Sud

We turned up without a booking and got a warm welcome. Our pitch was comfortable for the two nights we camped, with the town and beach easy to reach and a small supermarket just outside the gates. The quiet-at-night rule makes sense, but the campsite's own outdoor entertainment didn't stick to it. On our first night, the speakers kept going until 23:20. Bring earplugs.

The park is lovely and spacious, with lots of pine trees, and the beach is about a 15-minute walk away. We had a great family stay last month with our dogs for my dad's birthday. Our cottage looked brand new after the recent revamp, and the facilities are well cared for. There’s plenty going on for the whole family, including the kids, whether it’s organised or not. I'd recommend it.

We were there during a severe storm, and the site did a great job helping people who had camped spend the night in the clubhouse. Everyone pitched in with the clean-up the next day, and they even called in a tree surgeon to deal with loose branches and trees. It’s a huge site for tents and motorhomes, with a more rustic camping area and loads of activities for the family: parks, tennis, boules, football, table tennis, a gym, and more. There’s a lovely town center with shops and bars, plus good cycle links to the Grand Dune, about 12 miles away. The pool is a decent size, though I think its 7 pm closing time is too early.

We only planned one night, then stayed for 10. The reception team were so friendly and helpful, and the showers were clean with hot water. The pool was warm, too. From the site, it’s a short walk or bike ride through a town full of shops and restaurants to a fantastic beach.
