Htel Au Bon Landais

The relaxed outdoor bar was a lovely place to have beer and charcuterie on the little wooden terrace. Children are welcome, too. The team, Julia, Gaspard, and Antoine, greeted us with infectious good humor and made us feel at home. The colorful, practical rooms matched their description, and the bedding was impeccable. It was an authentic, warm, and excellent stay.

Avoid this place. We paid €70 for a room that wasn't worth €30. There was no warm welcome and very little comfort. When booking, nobody said reception would be unattended and the hotel closed. Instructions for getting into the room arrived by email at the last minute. What if you don't have a phone? The room is at the back of a courtyard, up a steep, poorly lit staircase. Everything is open, so anyone can get in. Inside, the room is cramped, the shower cubicle is like a public toilet, and the toilet seat wasn't fixed. In December, the heating was off and the only warmth came from a little electric space heater. There was no bath mat, cup, spare blanket, TV, or breakfast. They suggested a café 30 meters away, but we never found it. The website is beautifully designed and very misleading. A campsite would be more welcoming and comfortable.

We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back. The hotel is peaceful and ideally placed in Biscarrosse, close to the beach and shops. Our room was spotless, nicely decorated, and had very comfortable bedding. The staff were warm, always smiling, and available with help or suggestions for activities nearby. Special mention for the clogs, made with fresh local products. Thanks to the whole team for such a friendly welcome!

We really enjoyed our stay at this pleasant hotel. It's quiet, but right next to the center of Biscarrosse beach, and the team were helpful and excellent.
