You can see Citadel Bitche from the hotel, and there are pedal-powered train rides on the old railroad across the street. The Maginot Line museum is also just five minutes away. The hotel itself is a great find: clean, comfortable, and affordable, with modern furniture and bathroom fixtures. Dinner was delicious, a first-rate three-course meal, and breakfast was a perfect start to the day.

The food was the highlight for me: everything was carefully cooked, the flavors worked beautifully together, and the presentation looked great. There are plenty of tempting dishes on the menu, and the prices are reasonable for such a good meal. The Citadel view is stunning, too, like having a bit of history right beside your table. A lovely choice for dinner, whether it’s a date or just a meal out nearby. Highly recommend.

Leo, our waiter, made the meals even better. He was great fun to chat with and couldn’t have been more helpful, and the kitchen staff were wonderful as well. This was my second visit this year. It’s a very nice place, and I’ll stay here again next time I’m in this part of the country. Easily worth five stars.

The staff and atmosphere were both great, though we thought the prices ran a little high. My wife had the Rösti and I ordered the duck. Both tasted very good, especially the delicious Munster piled over the Rösti, but there was perhaps only half a potato in it. The duck came with very few vegetables. I usually skip an entree and still struggle to finish a main, so the small portions stood out.

The Chateau has loads of charm, and the surroundings are beautiful. I was welcomed warmly and enjoyed a nice breakfast. I loved my stay.
