We stayed overnight before taking the euro tunnel, and the hotel handled our 10:30 PM arrival just fine. We booked two rooms for our family of six, both well kept and with private bathrooms. The rooms are small, and finding street parking can be a bit tricky, though that's pretty typical in Europe. The beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the customer service was excellent. We also booked breakfast for the next morning and enjoyed big cups of chocolate with fresh breads and assorted jellies. Great hotel for the price. We'll definitely stay at La Deltaplane again when we're passing through.

The bar hostess who welcomed us was really nice and friendly, and I wouldn't mind staying again if the price were right. It wasn't the worst hotel, but a few things could be better. The rooms aren't well soundproofed, and the people next door coming and going at night and early in the morning were loud enough to wake me and make me think someone was trying to get into our room. The TV was tiny and mounted high. The toilet and shower were basically portable units installed in the room, like in a campervan or at a festival. The toilet took 20 seconds to flush and sounded like one on a train or plane, quite an experience 😂. There was sand on one of our beds when we arrived. The room was almost 200 euros because it was one of the last available in Calais that night.

The beach is just a two-minute walk away, and it’s wonderful, wide, and great for a swim in that marvelous sea. I loved this authentic old-style French hotel. The staff were friendly and obliging, and spoke passable English, even though they’d said they couldn’t. Merci beaucoup.

I stayed in the top-floor Airbnb, and it was easily the creepiest place I’ve ever been. It felt straight out of a scary movie. Downstairs, the owner kept dogs and birds in the dining area, which smelled like a petting zoo.

The barman was drunk and fought with me. Horrible hotel. I’ll never go back.
