We celebrated our 25th anniversary here after plenty of stays in French B&Bs, including some very good ones. We approached the gates a little nervously, but the hosts soon made us feel at home. We spent two nights here in 2015 and will definitely return. Blois has a special charm, too. The photos and website don't really show what the place is like. We stayed in the Four à Pain suite. It's part of the house, on the ground floor, but feels separate: you enter through a private door into a reception area, then pass a short corridor with a bathroom on one side and a spacious cloakroom on the other before reaching the bedroom. Breakfast was lovely each morning. Along with the usual things, all done well, there were special touches like baked apple. The hosts are warm and helpful, know plenty about the area, and are happy to book a restaurant for you. They speak English well, though I enjoyed using my French. They also have lots of special offer tickets, so tell them what you're thinking of booking. There can be significant savings. Parking is private, behind a locked gate. Blois is a bit of a walk unless you're keen on walking, but we liked the peace of staying outside town. It's close enough to be a five-minute drive from where we parked, right beside the Loire river. Highly recommended.
