The greens and their fringes were in superb shape, a pleasure to putt on. After the round, the Clubhouse had a tasty panini and a long, lovely beer, just what my tired body needed. The course at Golf du Chateau d'Allot mixes links style and parkland holes, with water coming into play on many of them, so it made for a nice test. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. All in all, it seems like a club that's moving forward and well worth a visit.

It was disappointing to get no response at all, even though my messages had been read. My 14-year-old daughter has been in golf school for 10 years and already plays at a very good level. She wanted to try a nearby course and play 18 holes at Golf du Château d'Allot. I emailed and followed up on Messenger to ask for details and book a tee time for the 23rd. Even a no would have been appreciated. We were genuinely keen to discover the course, so the silence on both channels left a very unprofessional impression of the customer service. A simple reply would have been enough.

My top choice in Lot-et-Garonne by a long way, and the course is excellent. The restaurant is really good too, with generous servings at low prices. A starter, main and dessert cost €25.
