Camping Belle Vue

We keep coming back year after year. Simon and Cal are so welcoming, and they’ll cook home-made meals if you fancy one. The village of Hautefort is an easy enough walk, with a bar, bakery, well-stocked deli and weekly market, and the campsite makes a great base for exploring the Dordogne. It’s a lovely quiet place with a personal feel, just a dozen or so roomy pitches, plenty of shade and electrical hookups. One of the prettiest little campsites in France.

The food was great when we chose to have dinner served, and Simon and Cal really do care about making guests comfortable. They’re attentive to all the little details, even bringing bread or pastries to your pitch in the morning. The campsite itself is peaceful, with a fantastic view of the chateau, which is a lovely walk and one of the best we’ve taken. It made for such a relaxed stay. Looking forward to coming back.

We only stayed two nights, but felt comfortable and really well cared for. Simon and Cal are kind and helpful, and they bring breakfast bread to you themselves. The little campsite has what a traveler needs, plus lovely scenery and a view toward Chateau Hautefour. We’d return whenever we’re nearby. Wishing you a great season and plenty of pleasant guests.

This was our second stay at Camping Belle View, just outside Hautfort, and we had a great week even with the unusually wet weather. There’s lots to see around here, and the Chateau is incredible. We also enjoyed walks on the marked trails, with their mix of scenery and architecture. Simon and Cal were so welcoming, and whenever we needed help they were quick to assist and did it with a smile. They cooked three excellent four-course dinners during our week. The facilities are clean, adequate and always available. Apart from the weather, I can’t think of anything that needs improving.
