Chateau de Roqueperlic

It’s wonderfully peaceful here. The owners are lovely, take time to chat with you, and help out whenever they can.

A great place to stay, with really nice hosts.

Such a lovely place, and the people are really nice.

The calm here makes it easy to settle into an armchair indoors or sit outside listening to the birds. We also enjoyed the forest trails, especially the little stream along the way. There are plenty of places to visit in the region, and you can have breakfast here, then find lunch or dinner in Castres or at the village restaurant. But we were so taken with the château’s magic that we chose to stay and enjoy its sense of the past instead. We’d love to come back, and highly recommend it. The château is magnificent, with gray granite walls and a quiet, wooded park dotted with centuries-old trees. Its rooms are full of antique furniture, and each one has an early 20th-century feel, beautifully decorated by this exceptional couple. The owner’s warm welcome had us imagining the start of a wonderful romantic weekend, and we felt at home right away. The drive there is lovely, and the wow factor hits as soon as you arrive. It’s a hidden gem you sometimes come across and want to share. If you’re drawn to places that are distinctive, historic, peaceful, comfortable, and spotlessly clean, this is one to know. The photos show it in blue skies, but we loved it just as much during a gray, damp weekend. Its charm works in every season.
