Hôtel Padolo

We chose this place mainly because it welcomes dogs and has parking, and for traveling with a dog it worked really well. But it’s a long way from Bonifacio’s centre, so I wouldn’t stay here without a car if the town is where you want to spend your time. The hotel itself is clean and basic, with no frills, and nearly €900 for three nights felt like a rip-off. We skipped the pool and breakfast. Breakfast costs €12.50 for a very simple spread; there’s also a boulangeri a short drive away. Bring your own shampoo and body wash too, the hotel supplies are tiny and cheap.

It’s easy to get to, and the price is fairly modest for a place that makes no grand promises. The rooms are functional, the setting and amenities are basic, and there isn’t much on site. Breakfast is decent value, though ordinary, with no other choices to order. There’s a small pool that might feel even smaller when summer gets busy, and the hot tub wasn’t working when I was there. The price could be more competitive, though that may be typical in an area with few operators.

The staff were very kind and helpful, and the setting is beautiful, close to Bonifacio. The accommodation consists of separate little apartments. We booked an economy double room, which was 12 square meters, though larger rooms are available too. My only complaint was the cramped bathroom. The shower ceiling was just 1.70 meters high.

We stopped here while traveling between Santa Lucia and Ajaccio and had a fantastic stay. The location was great, and the entertainment recommendations were very helpful. Highly recommended.
