La Caravelle

A classic family-run restaurant, definitely worth trying. You can tell how proud they are of the place. The service is really friendly, and they start you off with a glass of champagne. The dishes mix classic and local ingredients. We tried a local wine that was fantastic and highly recommend it. Go early for the sunset, or take the later seating and enjoy the town's energy.

Our dinner cost a lot, but the food didn't show much creativity or fresh thinking compared with well-known competitors close to the harbor. The ravioli starter was too salty, the scorpion fish lacked interesting cooking ideas, and the Beaujolais for two alongside five fresh fish brought nothing new. The bigger problem came afterward. We had booked dinner at La Caravelle for our family of eight along with a yacht harbor arrangement, confirmed by email. When we arrived in the morning, a berth was available, and we specifically asked the restaurant management about harbor fees. The team told us everything was sorted and arranged. We left the harbor the next morning without any issue. Three days later, the harbor office contacted us to say the fees hadn't been paid. After back-and-forth discussions, the restaurant refused to cover them, despite what we had been told. The way La Caravelle communicated and handled this left us feeling misled. Overall, an overpriced dinner that didn't match the restaurant guide reputation in the region, followed by an unpleasant and costly dispute with the harbor office and La Caravelle receptionist.

Our captain recommended this place after we docked nearby, and lunch turned out to be amazing. The prices are on the expensive side, but the staff were incredibly friendly and the owner gave us complimentary champagne. We tried the eggplant, the catch of the day, mussel pasta and ravioli. Everything was fresh and full of flavor, and the ravioli was especially outstanding. The eggplant was the best I've ever had. I loved the place, and despite the high prices, I thought it was worth it.

We had a fantastic dinner with my boyfriend. The location by the port was immaculate, and when a better table in the middle opened up, they offered it to us. The food and wine suggestions were spot on, and the people were great. The owner welcomed us with a glass of champagne, came around chatting and dancing, and was such a party animal. The party afterward was amazing. A standout spot in Bonifacio for great food and dancing. We'd recommend it and will definitely be back.
