The grounds are gated and felt very safe, with rooms kept pristine and the whole property meticulously maintained. The breakfast buffet had a nice range, and dinner was fantastic, it felt like eating at a Michelin-starred restaurant in NYC. At times the place felt like a luxurious wellness spa, and at others like being welcomed into Valentina’s family. Valentina and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful, and communication was excellent. She answered our questions promptly and texted the room and check-in details before we arrived. They also gave us great beach and tour guide recommendations, and called taxis when we were struggling to arrange them. I’d highly recommend staying here. You’ll need to rent a car or arrange taxis to get around, as the hotel isn’t within walking distance of town, but don’t let that put you off.

The room was in perfect condition, with plenty of space and its own balcony. The hotel also has a lovely garden and restaurant. I hope I can come back.

The food was good, though it was pretty pricey.

Breakfast was a real treat, with excellent food and nothing missing. We were delighted by the very spacious rooms and their tasteful decor, and the pool area was kept exceptionally well and made a lovely place to unwind. The owner’s warm hospitality stood out, too. They clearly run the hotel with real passion. Hotel Poisson Rouge is a real gem and deserves its top rating. It’s also well placed for exploring the region, with Bonifacio port about a 20-minute motorbike ride away. If you’re after high quality and a personal atmosphere in this beautiful part of Corsica, this is a great fit.
