That January stop on our way home to Toulouse left us wondering why we hadn't found this place before. Edward and Malcolm made us feel cared for from the moment we arrived, with tea by the log burner, then a lovely supper of homegrown food, home cooking, wine and good conversation. Breakfast's home-laid eggs were great too. The rooms were clean and cosy, and it was so peaceful there. Leo the dog was a hit with our slightly precocious 2-year-old, who's still talking about him. We left feeling rested and happy, and now we're hoping to grow our own perpetual spinach. Thanks, Edward and Malcolm. We hope to stop by again.

The rooms were spacious enough and thoughtfully laid out, with tasteful decoration. Food was plentiful and very good, with fresh vegetables from the impressive gardens, and the kids loved wandering around and snacking on the different fresh berries. We came as a family with two young children, and the secure, beautiful grounds gave them room to explore while we relaxed with drinks after the long drive. We enjoyed our first stay so much that we booked again for the return trip south. Malcolm and Edward were warm and welcoming. We'll be back!

The owners made us feel at home straight away on our drive to the south of France. We had a nice, very clean room, and the garden and pool were great for cooling off. The food was plentiful and organic. I'd definitely stay again.

Breakfast was hearty and tasty, with eggs, tomatoes, toast and yoghurt, and set us up for the day. Our room was spacious and clean, and the fabulous bed gave us a wonderfully relaxing night's sleep. For our three-night stay, Malcolm and Edward gave us a very friendly welcome and showed us around the house and lovely gardens even though we arrived before check-in time. Malcolm also kindly let us leave our bags while we went off to explore Argenton and the environment. Dinner was wonderful: fresh vegetables and fruit from the large potage, cooked perfectly, followed by cheese, biscuits and plenty of port after raspberry fools for dessert. We'd recommend Malcolm and Edward's place to anyone travelling to the south of France or Spain. Argenton and the Brenne national park are nearby and well worth visiting.

They turned us away, then repeatedly lied to our solicitor about why. He said I didn't want to stay because they were gay, and claimed I struggled with the stairs. I never even set foot in the house, and I'd booked a ground-floor room. I can assure you I have no problem with gay people, but I do feel they didn't like having me there because I wasn't gay. More recently, he posted on trip advisor saying we repeatedly claimed the beds at other hotels we'd used were sturdy. That's a lie. Feel free to look at my reviews, you'll see I never said that. This man couldn't tell the truth if he tried. Avoid the place unless you'd like your holiday spoiled too, like ours was.
