Breakfast was a lovely continental spread with homemade jams, and we could have all the coffee and hot chocolate we wanted. Leaving was very straightforward, though we paid Sylvie a local tax of 2€. We’d definitely stay again, and there was also the option of a home-cooked meal for 25€ per person. It was our first B&B stay and we weren’t disappointed. Thanks to Sylvie for being such a great host. The Gite is in a quiet village with fields all around, and less than a 10 minute drive from the Channel Tunnel. There’s parking on site. Sylvie, the owner, greeted us and showed us to our room. The spiral staircase could be a problem for someone with disabilities. We had a spacious family room for two adults and two teenagers, with a very large king-size bed and two single beds. All were extremely comfortable, with deep, firm mattresses and beautiful linen. We’ve been in family rooms where everyone feels on top of each other, but there was plenty of space here, plus a couple of chairs and a desk with chairs. The room was extremely clean, beautifully decorated, and looked out over the surrounding countryside. The ensuite had a separate toilet and shower, with excellent water pressure and temperature. There were plenty of towels for all of us.

After crossing the Channel through the tunnel, we stayed here and were charmed by the cute room, the view, and the picturesque setting. The house is on the outskirts of Calais, literally 10 minutes from the train, and a really charming family runs it. They kindly accommodated our late arrival, thank you so much! Breakfast was great, with croissants, homemade jam, muesli, fresh orange juice, and coffee. We’ll come back!

The garden was nice, and the location quiet, but there weren’t any restaurants or bars nearby. The closest were at least 8 km away. Breakfast included yoghurt along with the usual French fare of baguette, croissant, jam, and cheese. One morning it was served in the garden, which was much nicer than eating indoors. Sylvie was welcoming and accommodating. Our room, Cérés, was spacious, though it got very hot without a fan or air-conditioning. The thin walls also meant poor privacy. My rating is 5/10, based on the price level.

Once you’ve had a rest and a shower, there’s a lovely breakfast to set you up. The rooms were clean, the bed very comfortable, and the shower great. It’s exactly 10 minutes by car from Eurotunnel and 5 minutes from Cite Europe, but looking out the window in the morning, you’d think you were miles from anywhere. Pull the blind and it feels and sounds really remote. A very nice chambres d'hote that does what it says on the tin.

Just 2 minutes from the tunnel terminal, with lovely clean rooms and a wonderful French breakfast. Fantastic bed and breakfast, highly recommended.
