Best Western Plus Gare Saint-Jean

We had a superior room, and it was surprisingly spacious, with a comfortable bed and good cleaning standards. The amenities were great, and the food, drinks, and breakfast were all good quality with options for different visitors. Reception staff were polite and engaging. A great location if you're using the train station!

The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the hotel's in a great spot. Our room was quite small, with an unusual bathroom layout, and it was noisy, though they did provide earplugs. Since we overlooked the street, maybe we should've asked for a quieter room. I'd still stay here again when visiting Bordeaux, just not in Room 105.

The reception staff were lovely, and the facilities were what you'd expect from a four-star hotel. It's perfectly placed for the train, and the room was comfortable, though compact. There was no door separating the bathroom from the bed. Sleep was badly interrupted: the kitchen set off the fire alarm at 3 a.m., then housekeeping knocked before checkout and woke me. Half an hour before checkout, she knocked again to tell me to get ready to leave. 😒

After a long week cycling through wine country, we had an early flight the next day. Julie at the front desk and the rest of the staff were helpful, polite, and professional, and they successfully arranged our early taxi to the airport. Our stay was great, and others on our cycling trip had very positive things to say about their stays here too. The rooms were clean and well appointed, and I was impressed with the whole experience. I'll gladly recommend it. One more thing: Julie emailed to say my wife had left her sunglasses and asked if she could mail them to us. We were really impressed by that, so please pass along our thanks to her. Great job!
