The notable eighteenth-century organ is one of the interior’s central features. In this peaceful setting, you can take in the medieval design and local heritage, along with the detailed carvings on the facade.

I couldn’t see the interior because the church was closed when I visited, and the square out front was fenced off for archaeological work. Still, it’s one of the two most impressive churches in Bordeaux to me. I like how the facade keeps visible layers of time. It gives the building a distinctive, appealing character.

The damp and humidity have clearly taken a toll, and the signs of decay are all too visible. Even so, it remains a magnificent building and well worth a visit. A more noticeable place to leave a donation would help. It’s a beautiful church, impressive both inside and out.

There’s construction work going on outside, which takes away a little from the setting. There’s a small square nearby with a couple of restaurants where you can stop for a drink or a snack. We’d passed the church several times while it was closed, but this time the doors were open and we finally got to see inside. It was built in the 1700s and has been renovated several times. There’s a statue of St. George on the façade, on the upper left side. If you’re into churches, it’s worth a look, though there’s no sign on the door telling you when it’s open.

A beautiful church, with excellent interiors that give you a divine feeling.
