Hotel Gambetta

The location is really good and the staff are friendly. Breakfast was okay. The bed was very hard and didn’t work for me at 90 kg. My room got very warm even in April, with no air circulation and a window that wouldn’t open. It’s a two-star hotel, so the standard is what you’d expect. It felt a bit overpriced, though the location is probably why it’s popular. It might suit a few nights in winter if you want to explore Bordeaux. I wouldn’t recommend it if you have mobility issues or if it’s above 20 degrees outside.

A good budget option, with a clean, decent bedroom. Since the hotel faces the street, you can hear noise, including the tram. The reception was lovely and friendly, and breakfast at 9 euros was well worth it.

You get exactly what it promises. It’s a central hotel, walking distance to all the sights, and you won’t find better at that price. It’s a lot cheaper than the neighboring places, with all transport just 100 metres away.

For the price, this is a very good hotel. It’s right at the end of a main pedestrian street, in a great location that stays quiet at night. The rooms are small, but everything was clean. The one thing to improve would be the shower, its head was at such an awkward angle that I had to hold it to use it properly.
