La Maison Bastide

A quiet, relaxing place to stay, close to the tram line for getting into the old town. We found it easy enough to walk around too. Patricia greeted us with tips for the town and things to see, and there was coffee waiting when we arrived. Since our train was early on a weekend, Christophe kindly drove us to the station. They were such considerate, kind hosts, and it was lovely sitting and chatting on Their terrace. Do yourself a favour and stay here 😀

Breakfast was a lovely start each morning, especially the fresh orange juice and homemade yogurt. The host was so accommodating, waiting to welcome us even though we got in very late. Our room was compact but just right for two, and having a kitchen was handy. It’s on the quieter side of the river, with really good public transport for getting around Bordeaux. We’d happily stay again.

The pool and tidy garden were a real treat, and I loved the breakfast conversations with my son and Marcus. We spent a wonderful week at Patricia and Christophe's La Maison Bastide on Bordeaux’s right bank. It felt like home: Patricia chatted with guests and made sure we were comfortable, and Ann gave us a warm welcome along with useful local tips. Her homemade yogurt and jams made breakfast special. The neighborhood was peaceful, but crossing Pont de Pierre to the center was an easy walk, and the nearby tram made getting around good value, as was eating out compared with Ireland. The individually furnished rooms were spotless and had everything we needed, often including a desk. The bedding was superb, and I slept better than I had in ages. I already miss it and hope to come back.

Getting around Bordeaux from Maison Bastide was easy, and Patrica shared lots of useful sightseeing tips. Patricia and Christoph welcomed us in English into their lovely home and treated us like family. Our room was comfortable and clean, and the staircase was beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, with especially good yogurt, coffee, croissants, and jams. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Maison Bastide. Thank you, from Carolyn and Ed.
