Bruno and Patrick made our stay in Bordeaux memorable. They were kind, always accommodating, and spent time sharing recommendations and chatting about our onward travels in the evenings. Their magnificent home felt like a home away from home. The bedroom was very comfortable and well equipped, with great A/C for the summer heat. We ate breakfast in the pretty courtyard, including delicious homemade jams. The area is very quiet, so we slept soundly, and everything was impeccably clean. I was amazed that the room was cleaned and serviced every day. We had no issue with the house rule against food in bedrooms. It felt like common courtesy in someone else’s home, and the hosts welcomed us to eat in the kitchen area or courtyard in the evening. If you want a tastefully decorated BnB with great hosts in a lovely local area within walking distance of the city centre, stay here. We loved it and would return in a heartbeat.

We took a day-long guided tour to St Emilion, including a visit to a wine yard and a tasting. The house is within walking distance of downtown Bordeaux, and there are buses too. The room was unique, modern, clean and beautifully designed, with a private feel throughout the hotel. The host made it a stay we’ll remember. Highly recommended!

Our holiday was spoiled by staying here. I felt watched and so uncomfortable that we had to speak quietly. It was the worst experience. After we left an honest but fair review on booking.com, the host Bruno sent me an extremely racist and discriminatory personal message. He wrote: “WE ALWAYS HAVE THIS KIND OF PROBLEM WITH ASIAN CUSTOMERS BECAUSE WE DON’T HAVE THE SAME EDUCATION!!!” Please avoid this nasty, racist person. We had told him our arrival time, but he didn’t come back until 3pm. We’d also asked to book a taxi for our early flight on the day we checked in. So how could he say we woke the whole house? We paid to stay in a guest house and should be able to check out whenever we need to, especially to catch the earliest flight.

We had a wonderful stay at La Villa Desvaux de Marigny. Patrick and Bruno made it memorable, and the house and rooms were kept immaculately, with everything super clean. The owners’ homemade jams were part of a breakfast that was to die for. The house is in a beautiful, very quiet area about a 20-minute walk from the city centre. Highly recommended.

The mornings in the garden, with breakfast made fresh to order, were such a treat. We loved our three nights with Bruno and Patrick at La Villa Desvaux, and the house and rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated. Wish we could've stayed longer. Thank you!
