Le Loft Saint Rémi

I got bitten literally 100 times in one night because of bed bugs. I woke up to blood on the sheets and spent the whole night feeling itchy, so I couldn't sleep properly.

The welcome was really friendly, and the hotel is right in the city centre with everything easy to reach. One thing that caught me out as someone unfamiliar with Bordeaux: it's in a pedestrian zone, and parking means using paid underground garages. For comfort, there are a few downsides. The bathroom is cramped, there's no hairdryer or elevator, and the toiletries and amenities are basic.

The staff were so kind, they even found us a taxi in the middle of the night. We chose Hôtel Saint Rémi for the affordable price and were pleasantly surprised. It's a family-run hotel in an incredibly central spot, on a street with great restaurants. There's a Japanese place that stays open at lunchtime and serves noodles, ramen or yakisoba, and the restaurant next door specializes in fondue. Even on a busy central street, it was incredibly quiet and we slept really well. The rooms felt special, were clean and well-equipped. We'll definitely stay at Hôtel Saint Rémi again when we're back in Bordeaux!
