Hotel Pullman Bordeaux Lac

The warm welcome at check-in made our stay at Pullman Bordeaux feel special. The woman at reception was kind and very helpful, and made us feel at home right away. The hotel itself is modern, clean and comfortable. We had a fantastic experience and highly recommend it. Thanks!

The hotel welcomed pets, which mattered most to me. Our room was comfortable and the staff were welcoming. I was surprised there was a parking charge. The restaurant was closed on Sunday, but there were places to eat within walking distance.

More than a week after we left Pullman Hotel, I noticed an unexpected 52 Euros charged to my card. That's unacceptable and feels like outright theft. The stay also left me very unhappy with the service and pricing transparency, and I would advise people to avoid this hotel. At check-in they unexpectedly took a 100 Euro deposit, something I'd never encountered in any country I'd visited. At checkout, there was also a supposed city tax that hadn't been mentioned when booking or on arrival. The air conditioning didn't work, so the room was unbearably hot and we slept very badly. We paid a lot for breakfast the next morning and found dirty plates, with many items not replenished or in poor condition. Staff weren't attentive. We had to point out that bread was burning in the toaster, and the first thing they asked rudely was whether it was ours. Then the fire alarm went off, and staff couldn't shut it down for over 15 minutes. It was deafening and made an uncomfortable stay even worse.

The lake views were fabulous, and having a tram right outside made the location perfect. The pool was lovely too, a hard thing to find in Bordeaux. Clemence at reception deserves a special mention for going above and beyond with recommendations and ideas. We had an amazing stay and a great trip, and I'd recommend the hotel to anyone.
