Parking under the hotel was very easy, and the location was great. The staff were friendly too. I had a really pleasant stay, with a nice bed, equipped kitchen, and nice bathroom. I’d definitely stay again.

My brother and I came for the weekend in 2016 because Wales were playing, and we had a lovely time. We ended up living on packets of peanuts and lager because we didn’t know what to eat. The gentleman at the Bar was really friendly.
The location near the train station is really practical, and the WiFi worked well. Our room was clean and spacious, with a useful kitchenette. The bed was fairly comfortable, though not huge. Friendly, uncomplicated service, and they can speak English.
We stayed at Teneo Bordeaux Gare Saint-Jean from June 21st until June 23rd, on our first trip to France. My husband and I had been excited for a great stay, but it turned out horrible and uncomfortable. We got the key without any check-in trouble, although it was literally a key, not the cards most hotels use. On the 4th floor the heat and humidity hit us. Room 405 was incredibly hot, with the windows wide open and both fans running. There was no air conditioning. I went down to ask for another room and learned that none of them had A/C. I was shocked, especially since the reception area had A/C, so they knew it got hot while guests had none in their rooms. There was no mention of this on the website or anywhere. The gentleman offered a first-floor room, but it also lacked A/C, so we declined. I asked to check out and get my money back so we could find a hotel with air conditioning. They told me to email bordeaux@teneo.fr with the details, but nobody answered. When I spoke to a woman at reception, she said she couldn’t help because the administrator wasn’t at the hotel and didn’t work weekends. I was told to wait until Monday June 23rd, the day we had to check out. In the end, we stayed because we couldn’t afford to spend more. We barely slept with the windows open and two fans on. The heat was bad, and noise from downstairs was very loud, with even single noises carrying up to the 4th floor. Nobody helped with our request, the email got no reply, and it’s disappointing that nobody could issue a refund over the weekend because there was no administrator. It’s a very poor way to manage a property. I’ve already told my contacts in Bordeaux about our awful experience, and they won’t recommend Teneo to friends or family.
I had a great stay in September 2025 and felt safe.
