Camping d'Angers

We spent two nights here in late September. It was a lovely quiet site with very good facilities, and reception had milk, beer, and a few other essentials. The cycle routes into the city were lovely and took about 25 minutes. It also looked like a great spot for cycling or walking the dog. I'd definitely recommend it.

The staff were really friendly and around when needed, and there was a good choice of beer and very nice pizzas. The site is close to the lake and shops, and the family setting worked well. The pool was warm and very clean, ideal for young kids. The lodges were very good too, but during a heatwave it was far too hot in ours, so we had to book a hotel. At 11pm the air temperature was 34C, both inside and out.

The town and lake are beautiful, and it was perfectly quiet overnight. I only stopped for a quick night, so can't really comment on the rooms. The price was a little higher than usual, but the location made it worth five stars for me. There's a pool, restaurant and bar, plus what you need for a comfortable stay. I'd stay again if I needed to.

The river cycle paths were amazing, and the city itself was great. We had a fabulous six nights here, with friendly staff, clean facilities, and excellent bike hire. Fresh, delicious bread was available in the mornings at a reasonable price. We skipped the pool, though it looked good and plenty of families were enjoying it, and swam in the nearby lake instead, which was lovely. I'm not sure why some reviews are poor. We'd definitely recommend the site and come back.
