We rented two very clean, well-furnished apartments, one on the ground floor and one on the first. The ground-floor place sleeps two adults and one infant in a crib. The renovated upstairs apartment has two spacious, comfortable bedrooms, each with a double bed, plus a modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. Every room has double glazing and electric shutters. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, oven, microwave, large refrigerator, and washing machine. There's a large living and dining room with a sofa bed, opening straight onto a lovely garden enclosed by tall old stone walls. You can barbecue on the terrace or unwind on the sun loungers. It's excellent value, just steps from the ramparts and a 10-minute walk from Place Dalton. Street parking is free and easy to find.

Getting into the Vintage Room early was a real plus, and the room itself looked lovely. The rest of the stay was much less comfortable: the kitchen had a moldy corner that smelled bad, and the cleaning felt rushed, with crumbs, hairs, cobwebs and a very worn sponge left behind. The hard pillows and noise from the upstairs neighbor also made it hard to sleep. A shame.

The apartment was roomy and attractive, a good fit for a stop on the way through or back. Boulogne is worth exploring too, and the area had some unexpected surprises. We struggled a bit with English, though our French could have been better as well.

The cleaning team deserves a big thank you, they were fantastic. We were six in the family and loved the vintage suite. It suited us perfectly for a stay of six days or longer, and we'd happily come back. Thanks!

The decor, amenities and location were all really impressive.
